Dear Friend,

At this difficult time, I wish to reassure you regarding the steps that we are taking at the Animal Sanctuary to ensure that all our animals continue to be looked after to the highest standards.

As of this morning, 24th March 2021, the Sanctuary has closed its doors to the public. Staff rotas have been reorganised so that at the moment it is also unnecessary for volunteers to travel to the Sanctuary. At some stage one or more of the staff will need to self-isolate, and we may need to ask some volunteers to return to work. We are preparing a database of volunteers, local veterinary students who have previously worked at the Sanctuary, freelance grooms, and kennel/cattery workers who may not be working at the moment. We will approach these people to check that they would be in a position to volunteer/work for us in an emergency, and the moment it looks as if animal care might be compromised we will take the necessary steps to prevent that happening.

Sadly, we have had to cancel or defer a number of fundraising and celebratory events that were planned for this Spring and early Summer. It is going to be a lean time for many, if not all, of us but if you could spare a few pounds to help us keep going and meet the challenges of the pandemic we would be extremely grateful. Please visit our website (www.heswilmslow.co.uk) to donate.

Thank you for all your support, and stay safe.
