It's now 2020, and 50 years since the Animal Sanctuary opened on Newgate, Wilmslow. The charity existed before then (we have recently found committee meeting minutes dating back to 1944!) but it's primary focus was education. Then Arthur Thompson bought the old turkey farm on Newgate and the Animal Sanctuary, as we know and love it, was born.

To celebrate, we are planning a number of events that will take place during the year, and we will post details about these on the website as soon as possible.

We would also like to challenge you, our supporters, to have some fun and raise some funds for us this year. If every one of you raised just £20 it would be a massive boost to our income. And if you could raise £50 for our 50th anniversary that would be truly amazing. Fundraising doesn't have to be scary or take a lot of time, and you can find lots of ideas to get you started here

If you are planning to raise sponsorship then you can set up your own fundraising page on this website here, and we can promote it for you on social media.

If you have raised cash you can either bring it in to the Sanctuary or donate through the website here.

Whatever you do, please let us know about it. We are going to have a 'Fun at Fifty' blog to celebrate all the fantastic fundraising that you do this year.
